The Preatures are a four-piece rock band from Sydney, Australia, fronted by Isabella 'Izzi' Manfredi on vocals and keys, guitarist Jack Moffitt, Thomas Champion on bass, and Luke Davison on drums.
The band formed in 2010 after meeting at the Lansdowne Hotel in Sydney. After releasing 'Take a Card' in 2012, they signed with Mercury Records Australia to release the 'Shaking Hands' EP.
After taking over a space in a rundown building known as Hibernian House in the inner Sydney suburb of Surry Hills, the band set about creating their own rehearsal and recording studio: Doldrums. Their second EP was recorded here, with Jack Moffitt at the helm, with the lead single 'Is This How You Feel' becoming a breakthrough hit.
Their debut album, Blue Planet Eyes, was released to worldwide critical acclaim. To date, The Preatures have performed at many of the world’s most respected music festivals including Coachella, Glastonbury, Bonarroo, Splendour In The Grass and Pentaport in Korea.
The first single of their sophmore album, ‘Girlhood’, was recorded in its entirety at Doldrums. The follow up track ‘Yanada’ was co-written with Dharug Song Woman, Jacinta Tobin and Isabella Manfredi. The song pays respect to the local Indigenous community in Sydney and has swiftly become a crowd favourite.
